Support model

You are not building alone.

Starting a business can feel overwhelming when you are trying to work everything out from scratch. Rec Alley franchising is designed to give owners a clearer pathway, with support across every major step needed to open, launch and operate.

Team-supported
A team that wants you to succeed.

Support from setup to launch and beyond

A clearer pathway into business ownership, backed every step of the way.

From site selection and setup through to training, recruitment, marketing and launch support, our team works with you to help bring your Rec Alley location to life.

The Rec Alley franchise model is designed to give owners a clearer pathway, with support across the major steps needed to open, launch and operate.

This is not a franchise where you receive a manual and are left to figure it out. Our team works alongside you — bringing operational knowledge, industry experience and a deep understanding of what makes a Rec Alley location succeed.

The support journey

How we support you from first conversation to open doors.

Our team works with you across every stage of the journey. Here's what that looks like in practice.

Step 1

Discovery

Initial conversation & discovery

From your first expression of interest, our franchise team works with you to understand your background, goals and what you're looking for. We share what the opportunity looks like, what we expect from owners and what you can expect from us — before any commitments are made.

Step 2

Pre-setup

Site selection guidance

Support with identifying suitable locations and understanding what the space needs to achieve. We help you evaluate sites against the Rec Alley model requirements — foot traffic, floor size, access, community demographics — so you're not making this decision alone.

Step 3

Setup

Lease & setup support

Guidance through the setup process so your location is planned with the Rec Alley model in mind. Our team shares what has worked in other locations, what to watch for in lease negotiations and how to set up your space to deliver the Rec Alley experience from day one.

Step 4

Pre-launch

Training before launch

Practical training to help you understand operations, programs, systems and the customer experience before you open. You will understand how a Rec Alley location runs — from class scheduling and staff management to customer experience and program delivery — before your first family walks through the door.

Step 5

Pre-launch

Recruitment support

Assistance with finding and preparing the right people to support your centre. We help you understand the type of staff a Rec Alley location needs, what to look for, how to interview and how to onboard your team so they are ready to deliver from opening day.

Step 6

Launch

Marketing & launch support

Brand and launch marketing support to help build awareness in your local community. We provide marketing assets, campaign templates and launch strategies that have worked across other Rec Alley locations — so you can hit the ground running and fill your first classes.

Step 7

Ongoing

Operational systems

Access to systems, processes and support designed to help the business run with clarity. The tools, templates and processes you need to manage bookings, staff, programs and customer relationships — built on what works across all Rec Alley locations.

Step 8

Ongoing

Ongoing network support

Be part of a growing network of owners who share knowledge, ideas and experience. Long after launch, you remain connected to the Rec Alley team and fellow owners — sharing what's working, solving challenges together and growing as the network grows.

Rec Alley Franchise Vision

What support looks like

Support at every phase — not just at the start.

Many franchise systems provide strong support at launch and then step back. Rec Alley is designed for ongoing partnership — because the challenges you face in month three are different to the challenges you face in year two.

Pre-opening

Site, setup, training & recruitment

The foundational work — finding the right location, building out your space, getting trained and hiring your team.

Launch phase

Marketing, launch & first families

Campaign support, launch events and the guidance to fill your first classes and create an outstanding opening experience.

Ongoing

Operations, growth & network

Operational systems, ongoing access to the Rec Alley team and a growing network of owners to learn from and grow alongside.

Support that scales with your business.

In the pre-opening phase our focus is on getting your location right — the site, the fit-out, the team and the systems. We invest this time because a well-prepared opening leads to a stronger, faster-growing business.

At launch, we shift to driving awareness and filling your programs. You receive marketing assets and campaign strategies built on what works — not starting from scratch.

Ongoing, you remain connected to the Rec Alley team and the owner network. As your business grows, the support evolves — operational guidance, program development and the shared learnings of every other owner in the network.

The challenges you face in month three are different to year two. We build support for both

Common questions about support

What people ask us most about the support model.

Do I need a gymnastics or fitness background?

No. You don't need a gymnastics background to become a Rec Alley franchise owner. We provide training on everything you need to understand the programs and the operations. What matters most is leadership, community focus and the drive to build something.

The pre-opening support period covers the full journey from agreement through to opening day. This includes site selection, setup, training and recruitment — and the length varies based on when you find your location and how quickly the fit-out progresses.

Ongoing support includes access to the Rec Alley team for operational questions, continued access to systems and processes, participation in the owner network and regular communication across the franchise network. Support doesn't stop at launch.

Yes. We provide recruitment support to help you identify the type of people a Rec Alley location needs, how to find them, how to interview and how to onboard and prepare them for opening. You make the final hiring decisions — we help you make them well.

You receive access to Rec Alley brand assets, campaign templates and launch marketing guidance. Our team works with you to plan your launch campaign so you can build local awareness and fill your first classes — rather than starting from zero.

The owner network is a connected group of franchise owners across the Rec Alley system. Owners share what's working, discuss challenges and learn from each other's experience. As the network grows, so does the collective knowledge available to every owner in it.
